Soma is often called missional, gospel-centered, an Acts 29 church or a church-planting movement and while that's all true, we usually just say we're all about Jesus. Because of who Jesus is and what he did (the gospel), Soma Communities is a family on Jesus' mission of making disciples, sent by God to serve our world, continually learning how to walk in his ways—that's our gospel identity, and it's worked out by God's grace in the everyday rhythms of life in communities spread throughout the Western US.
To establish a movement of gospel communities on mission saturating North America with gospel centered churches planting churches. This starts by establishing a church-multiplication hub in key North American cities, with the intent of moving outward to the regions surrounding each city.
The GCM Collective exists to promote, create and equip Gospel Communities on Mission
A gospel community is a group of believers that lives out the mission of God together as family, in a specific area to a particular people group, by declaring and demonstrating the gospel in tangible forms. Regular people, living ordinary lives, with great gospel intentionality.
Porterbrook Learning helps ordinary Christians learn how to serve Jesus and his people better — whether they are church leaders, church planters, or simply Christians wanting to become more mission-focused. The Porterbrook Learning material is flexible and has been designed to be integrated with your whole Christian life in whatever context you are serving. It’s not theology for theology’s sake: the Porterbrook Learning material is written by practitioners for practitioners.
We are excited that Jesus is allowing us to bring Porterbrook to the city and we feel it is going to be an unbelievable resource for the Church in Memphis. The program is two years, and is $350 a year.

Treasuring Christ Together Network
Spreading a passion for the supremacy of God through Church Planting
The Treasuring Christ Together Network is a partnership of churches that aims to spread a passion for the supremacy of God in all things for the joy of all peoples through Jesus Christ by starting new churches. We seek to bring together like-minded church planters, leaders of new and existing churches, and leaders of other like-minded networks and denominations to accomplish its mission. Furthermore, we partner with and plants churches whose elders love and embrace this mission, Affirmation of Faith, and shared values for Network endeavors and church life.
Our values are deeply held convictions that shape our thoughts, attitudes, life, and activities. They shape us as a Network now and influence our aspirations for the future.
We are Christians. Passionate, God-centered, Christ-preaching, Bible-saturated, joy-seeking, prayer-fueled, gospel-shaped, church-loving, leadership-developing, disciple-making, diversity-embracing, missional-living, missions-mobilizing, justice-pursuing, broken-hearted, happy followers of the omnipotent, crucified and risen Christ.
Mission and Vision of Acts 29
The Mission of Acts 29 is to band together Christian, Evangelical, Missional & Reformed churches, who, for the sake of Jesus and the gospel, plant new churches and replant dead and dying churches across the United States and the world. This work is done in obedience to the great commission (Matt. 28:18-20), with the goal of seeing millions of lives changed by the power of the gospel.
Acts 29 Network exists to build a unifying and an uncommon alliance of smaller networks to advance the mission of Jesus through church planting churches. We are planting churches that are missionaries in their respective communities sent by Jesus with the gospel (John 20:21). It is our commitment to focus our efforts on planting multiplying churches and training leaders. We count it an honor to partner with you and to serve you.
Acts 29 is a network of Spirit-empowered pastors following Jesus united with this gospel community of planters on mission to all people groups for the glory of God. If God has called you to plant or replant, apply to Acts 29 and our pastors will shepherd you in that journey. As a member, you will be in relationship with other planters through coaching, training—formally and informally, shepherding, networking, resourcing and funding as we train other men and plant other churches collaboratively.
Simply, we love Jesus and if He has called you to serve Him in church planting we would love to serve you.

We are a fellowship of evangelical churches deeply committed to renewing our faith in the gospel of Christ and to reforming our ministry practices to conform fully to the Scriptures. We have become deeply concerned about some movements within traditional evangelicalism that seem to be diminishing the church’s life and leading us away from our historic beliefs and practices. On the one hand, we are troubled by the idolatry of personal con- sumerism and the politicization of faith; on the other hand, we are distressed by the unchallenged acceptance of theological and moral relativism. These movements have led to the easy abandonment of both biblical truth and the transformed living mandated by our historic faith. We not only hear of these influences, we see their effects. We have committed ourselves to invigorating churches with new hope and compelling joy based on the promises received by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
We believe that in many evangelical churches a deep and broad consensus exists regarding the truths of the gospel. Yet we often see the celebration of our union with Christ replaced by the age-old attractions of power and affluence, or by monastic retreats into ritual, liturgy, and sacrament. What replaces the gospel will never promote a mission-hearted faith anchored in enduring truth working itself out in unashamed discipleship eager to stand the tests of kingdom-calling and sacrifice. We desire to advance along the King’s highway, always aiming to provide gospel advocacy, encouragement, and education so that current- and next-generation church leaders are better equipped to fuel their ministries with principles and practices that glorify the Savior and do good to those for whom he shed his life’s blood.
We want to generate a unified effort among all peoples—an effort that is zealous to honor Christ and multiply his disciples, joining in a true coalition for Jesus. Such a biblically grounded and united mission is the only endur- ing future for the church. This reality compels us to stand with others who are stirred by the conviction that the mercy of God in Jesus Christ is our only hope of eternal salvation. We desire to champion this gospel with clarity, compassion, courage, and joy—gladly linking hearts with fellow believers across denominational, ethnic, and class lines.
Our desire is to serve the church we love by inviting all our brothers and sisters to join us in an effort to renew the contemporary church in the ancient gospel of Christ so that we truly speak and live for him in a way that clearly communicates to our age. As pastors, we intend to do this in our churches through the ordinary means of his grace: prayer, the ministry of the Word, baptism and the Lord’s Supper and the fellowship of the saints. We yearn to work with all who, in addition to embracing the confession and vision set out here, seek the lordship of Christ over the whole of life with unabashed hope in the power of the Holy Spirit to transform individuals, com- munities, and cultures. You will find attached both our Confessional Statement and our Theological Vision for Ministry—a vision rooted in the Scriptures and centered on the gospel.
